Welcome Reception

University of Tartu History Museum

In the heart of Tartu, amidst the greenery of Toome Hill Park, the 13th-century cathedral houses serve as the University of Tartu Museum. The White Hall, on the museum’s third floor, is part of the former cathedral choir space and is one of the city’s most prominent historical event venues. The hall is known for its magnificent chandeliers, spaciousness, beautiful balcony, and grand medieval pillars. The White Hall, with its excellent acoustics, is one of Tartu’s most valued conference and concert venues.

As suitable for a venue with so awe inspiring history, we have chosen a very special performer to melt the ice of the first meeting – the award winning handbell ensemble Arsis will put the hall’s lauded acoustics to a real test. To accompany the music, the cocktail menu offers a taste of local seasonal delicacies.

Emajõe Suursoo · Peipsiveere Nature Reserve

Emajõe Suursoo, a wetland with intermingling lakes, rivers and rivulets criss-crossing through its vast extent, is part of Peipsiveere Nature Reserve. In the heart of this mystical area, in a riverbend, lies a hidden gem where the month of June gives nature lovers a unique chance to admire the timeless flow of waters accompanied by an accomplished choir of birds on the background of spring greenery. Not many people know of the place and even less have been lucky enough to experience it. To make it more palatable for the modern urban folks, there is a visitor center with all modern conveniences, yet still in the wilderness – no need to make your feet wet while still feeling the pulse of your virgin surroundings.

To give an extra touch for the evening, we are cordially inviting all the attendees to a traditional Estonian Midsummer feast brought to us by a surprise performer… Do not forget to take along your dance shoes!

Last but not least, the food served will be specially chosen for the occasion and as local as it gets, starting from ingredients up to master chef himself.

No need for black tie and high heels!

Delegates’ accompanying persons can inquire from the organising team about additional activities to attend, like visiting the Estonian National Museum, AHHAA Science Centre, the historic university’s premises, city tours and other.
